Two Young QB's Looked.... Young.

Hesitation was a main theme tonight in the San Francisco and Arizona Monday night game. A big one stuck out in my head, on the flea flicker. Matt Leinart had a streaking Larry Fitzgerald downfield, and instead of throwing, he double clutched and threw to a double-covered Anquan Boldin. The ball sailed over his head and went incomplete. Ken Whisenhunt has got to pick this out in game film and put some faith and confidence into the 24-year olds decisions.
Arizona most likely would have won if he would have went with his first instinct, instead of waiting it out and looking elsewhere.
Alex Smith had his struggles as well. However, on the final drive of the game he proved something. He has the potential to be a very good quarterback. The scramble for about 25 yards into Arizona territory was masterful. Followed up by the completion to Arnaz Battle to the 1-yard line, and then of course the winning touchdown.
Both QB's had only thrown for 92 yards and an interception combined at half-time. It just wasn't a good display from two very young quarterbacks. As the season goes on, I expect their gameplay to pick-up, and by the next time these two clubs meet, on November 25th, we'll see a much better and improved game.
The final from San Francisco was 20-17 for the Niners. Also, the Bengals forced 6 turnovers from Steve McNair and the Ravens, to win the early game 27-20.
