Twins15's NFL Predictions

by user twins15

With the NFL season officially kicking off Thursday, I figured now was a good time to post my predictions for the order of finish in each division, as well as my playoffs picks and Super Bowl winner. So without further ado:

AFC

East
New England Patriots
Miami Dolphins
New York Jets
Buffalo Bills

North
Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers*
Baltimore Ravens
Cleveland Browns

South
Indianapolis Colts
Jacksonville Jaguars
Houston Texans
Tennessee Titans

West
Denver Broncos
San Diego Chargers*
Kansas City Chiefs
Oakland Raiders

NFC

East
New York Giants
Dallas Cowboys*
Philadelphia Eagles
Washington Redskins

North
Chicago Bears
Minnesota Vikings
Detroit Lions
GB Packers

South
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Carolina Panthers*
Atlanta Falcons
New Orleans Saints

West
Seattle Seahawks
Arizona Cardinals
St. Louis Rams
San Francisco 49ers

* denotes Wildcard

AFC Playoffs
Bengals over Chargers
Patriots over Steelers

Colts over Patriots
Bengals over Broncos

Colts over Bengals

NFC Playoffs
Bucs over Panthers
Cowboys over Bears

Giants over Bucs
Seahawks over Cowboys

Giants over Seahawks

SUPER BOWL
Colts - 27
Giants - 17

Ok, so the boring pick at least as far as the Super Bowl winner is concerned, but I like the Indianapolis Colts to be your Super Bowl champs, beating the New York Giants. Obviously there's the concern for some people about Peyton Manning never winning the big game, or Edge being gone, but I think Indy will be just fine. The defense should be improving even more, and they still have the most dangerous offense in football. Which is why they're my pick as the Super Bowl champs.

I'm kind of surprised to see you picking Tampa Bay to win that division, considering how the hype has transferred from them to the Panthers. The Bucs were quietly one of the better teams in the NFL last year, despite having a shortage of real talent. I think Chris Simms is going to develop into quite the NFL QB. He's showing more poise in the pocket than he ever did at UT. Now if he can just cut down on the mental mistakes, I think he can really lead that team far.

Yeah the Panthers are the hyped team, but I like the Bucs a lot... good defense as always, Cadillac at RB, and I really like Chris Simms at QB.

It's unbelievable how many people think the Ravens are still better than the Browns...

I like the Browns and I think Charlie Frye is really going to be a good QB, but I think that if McNair is healthy the Ravens will be good enough to challenge for 2nd in the division and finish above the Browns.

I think the Manning v Manning Super Bowl will be next year, Peyton will need a year to get used to life without Edge

So you basically picked the divisions to finish almost exactly has they did last year... way to think about those picks!

Did the Bucs and Giants win their divisions last year (I honestly can't remember)... I suppose I was probably a little conservative with the standings.

Yes they both won their divisions last year, as did the Pats, Bengals, Broncos, Colts, seahawks and Bears... All your picks to win this year....

Peyton always blows big games. There's no way he'd beat the Pats in the playoffs. Another team, but not the Patriots - they're his Achilles Heel, and when it's important he screws up. But even if he did manage to squeak past the Pats, he'd blow the conference championship game, or something else. That's what Peyton does. But he's sure fun to watch during the regular season!

Why would you think the Pats are a lock? They're missing a number of players, including their golden clutch kicker. Their coaching staff has been depleted the last few seasons. Tom Brady or not, I don't know why you'd think that a team as talented as the Colts wouldn't stand a chance against the Patriots.

Bad division. The AFC East is terrible.
