Turner Barber (Tyrus Turner Barber) was born on July 9, 1893 in Lavinia, Tennessee. He made his Major League debut on August 19, 1915 for the Washington Senators. In 1919, his rookie year, he hit .313 with 0 home runs and 21 RBI. Barber played for the Washington Senators, Chicago Cubs and Brooklyn Robins over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Turner Barber's best season was 1921, when he hit for a .314 average and knocked in 54 runs.
