Born on April 8, 1934 in Boston, Massachusetts, Turk Farrell (Richard Joseph Farrell) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Colt .45s and Houston Astros over the course of his 14 year career. Farrell broke into the bigs on September 21, 1956 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 2.38 ERA in 83.1 innings pitched in 1957, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Turk Farrell's best season was 1962, when he posted a 3.02 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 203 batters.
