Truett Smith (Truett Henry Smith) was born on March 27, 1924 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After going to high school at Hazelhurst (MS), Smith attended Mississippi State University and the University of Wyoming. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1950 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1951 was Truett Smith's best year.
