Troy Archer (James Troy Archer) was born on January 16, 1955 in Glendale, California. After going to high school at California (Whittier, CA), Archer attended Rio Hondo Community College and the University of Colorado. Archer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1976 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Troy Archer's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
