Trinidad and Tobago national football team at the 2006 Football World Cup

Trinidad and Tobago have produced several legends over the past few years. Dwight Yorke among them. We've let him go to Australia now, where he can ply his trade in a newly-formed soccer league, but he's always going to be ostensibly part of the T+T squad.

The Soca Warriors, headed by their new coach, the Dutchman Leo Beenhakker, notorious for bringing Ronald Koeman to Ajax Amsterdam, took over in May 2005, after a short spell as technical advisor of De Graafschap.

Trinidad finished second in their group back in 2005, having beaten St Vincent and the Grenadines in their opening fixture and watching Mexico walk away with eighteen points from six games (thus, the only two matches T+T lost were the two against Mexico).

They continued to finish fourth in the final table, thus securing qualification to the World Cup finals after victory in an Intercontinental play-off against Bahrain. Their record in the Gold Cup, one of the few international cups in which they participate, is spotty, reaching the Semi-finals in one year, but otherwise failing to impress. However, with players such as Stern John, Shaka Hislop and Dwight Yorke in their lineup, they should improve over time.

Their group consists of England, Paraguay and Sweden. Barring any disastrous mishaps, England should qualify from this group, leaving the second placed spot between any of the other three teams.

But if they aren't famous last words, then I don't know what will be.
