Trevor Gaylor (Trevor Alexander Gaylor) was born on November 3, 1977 in St. Louis, Missouri. After going to high school at West (Hazelwood, MO), Gaylor attended Miami University of Ohio.
Gaylor ended his career as Miami’s record holder in receptions (128), receiving yards (2,131) and touchdowns in a season (20). As senior, he earned second-team All-Mid American Conference honors after leading Miami with a career-high 53 receptions for 1,028 yards and 11 touchdowns. His 1,028 receiving yards set school single-season record. Trevor majored in sociology.
Gaylor was a fourth-round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers in the 2000 NFL Draft. That season Gaylor recorded 13 catches for 182 yards and one touchdown in six games. In 2001, Gaylor recorded 14 catches for 217 yards in eight games for the Chargers.
After being traded to Atlanta he appeared in 13 games with two starts for the Falcons. Gaylor caught 25 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns. He was waived by the Falcons in 2003. He signed with the Detroit Lions in January, 2004 and was released during training camp. Gaylor signed with Edmonton in September, 2004 and spent the remainder of the season on the practice roster. Appeared in all 18 regular season games,recording 72 catches for 929 yards and five touchdowns. His first CFL touchdown came against Ottawa in Week 5. West Semifinal: two receptions for 28 yards; West Final: three catches for 59 yards and one TD; Grey Cup: seven receptions for 59 yards.
