Trent Green Goes Down in Home Opener

5
Vote

It was 2nd-and-2 and Trent Green was scrambling to the right for 5 yards. As he slid, feet-first, he took a vicious hit from Robert Geathers. The game paused for eleven minutes while he was down on the field.

It appeared to be a clean hit, as Geathers was falling into Green, perhaps even having been blocked from behind by Eddie Kennison, although this wasn't 100% clear.

Green had feeling in all of his limbs, but he could not recall the play that knocked him out. The team is optimistic that he will not be gone from action long.

"Just" a concussion, though... Hopefully he'll be back soon.

And I hope the Chiefs enlist some O-line in the meantime, or it could happen again...

This was in no way a clean hit. The QB was sliding, and it was a blow to the head. This borders on the insane that no penalty was called.
