In what was an exhilarating match to watch, the LA Beckhams got completely dominated, and were lucky to escape with a 0-0 draw at BMO Field. Don't worry, Beckham would've helped if he could play. With TFC using a 4-5-1 formation due to injury build up, they were able to maintain possession more, get more shots on goal, and being the underdogs of this match, they still creep 1 point closer to getting in the playoffs. The game started with a bang on an Andrea Lombardo shot, which was cleared off the line by the Beckhams. Lombardo thought he had scored, and so did virtually all of the 20,500+ fans (a record attendance) in Toronto, but Lombardo was offsides.
After taking my elderly neighbor's dog for a walk, I caught the second half of the action. In the 51st minute, Toronto nearly scored on a Jim Brennan attempt from outside the 18 yard box, but Beckhams keeper Joe Cannon made a great save to keep the game at 0-0. The LA Beckhams did nothing really in this game. Toronto almost found the winner, but Andy Welsh was stopped tremendously by Cannon.
Highlights will come tomorrow.
