Tookie Gilbert (Harold Joseph Gilbert) was born on April 4, 1929 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He made his Major League debut on May 5, 1950 for the New York Giants. In 1950, his rookie year, he hit .220 with 4 home runs and 32 RBI. Gilbert played for the New York Giants for his entire 2 year career.
