Too Much Drama

The NFL is kind of like 13-year old, Middle School girls.  Well, they have one similarity anyway.  They both have WAY too much drama.  With the recent back and forth drama-filled press conference/interview comments (such as Tiki Barber/Eli Manning/Tom Coughlin, and last year's LT/Bill Belichick incident), the NFL is becoming less, and less about going out every Sunday and just playing Football.  It's not like "back in the day" when their wasn't so much trashtalking (yes, I'm talking to you, Chad Johnson).  With all of today's technology, you don't have to talk to someone face to face like a man, you can just start an argument through a Press Conferences.  It's pretty simple, you just talk to a few reporters, say what you gotta say, and move on, sometimes a guy says the wrong thing, and it starts a crisis.

This brings me to yesterday, when Washington LB, Randall Godfrey,  talked to Bill Belichick on the field, after the 'Skins got blown out 52-7 by the perfect (8-0) Pats.  Godfrey was offended, and thought that the Pats were running up the score on them, and that they were disrespecting the game of Football.  Well, Randall, I agree with you when you say they were running up the score, but you don't have to cry about it to all the media.  I am certainly not taking the Pats side (I am really uncertain on how exactly I feel about the sitation), but the Pats should not be passing the ball in the fourth quarter with a 35-40 point lead.  But, I really don't think they so called "disrespected the game", maybe the Redskins, but not the game of Football.  If they were disprespecting the game, then they would be cheating (which they did earlier in the season).  There is no rule about running up the score, the Pats were just playing 60 minutes of Football, unlike the Redskins.  If you babies don't like it, then here's a good idea, STOP THEM.  It would be the Pats fault if Tom Brady, or another one of their Superstar starters got hurt.

I really don't like Godfrey complaining about it, Brady is just doing his job, and in the fourth quarter, backup Matt Cassel was in the game, and the Skins defense STILL could not keep them out of the end zone.  Maybe it's your own damn fault, if you didn't appreciate it, then run up the score on them next time you guys meet, Randall.

I really don't have a side in this argument, because I also agree with Godfrey, and the Redskins in a few ways.  When you take a look at the play selection they had with a 30-40 point lead in the fourth, they were still passing it downfield (probably to give backup Matt Cassel some experience), but they did, in fact, disrespect the 'Skins in a way, but if you're the Redskins, all you can do is pound them the next time they face off.  I really wish the NFL would go back to the old days, when there was no drama, and just play some great football.  Let your playing speak for itself, and no more whining, and complaining.  One more thing to all of the NFL, don't yell at the reporters/media unless they deserve to be yelled at, if they are just doing their job, PLEASE don't yell at them, that is what you would call disrespectful.

NFL: Take all your drama somewhere else, PLEASE and thank you.
