Born on April 5, 1899 in Germany, Tony Welzer (Anton Frank Welzer) played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 2 year career. Welzer broke into the bigs on April 13, 1926 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 4.86 ERA in 139 innings pitched in 1926, his rookie year.
