Tony Tonelli (Amerigo Steven Tonelli) was born on September 1, 1917 in Wheeling, West Virginia. After going to high school at Thomas (WV), Tonelli attended the University of Southern California. Tonelli made his professional debut in the NFL in 1939 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 1 year career.
