Tony Solaita (Tolia Solaita) was born on January 15, 1947 in Nuuuli, American Samoa. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1968 for the New York Yankees. In 1974, his rookie year, he hit .268 with 7 home runs and 30 RBI. Solaita played for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, California Angels, Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Expos over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Tony Solaita's best season was 1977, when he knocked in 53 runs.
