Tony Piet (Anthony Francis Piet) was born on December 7, 1906 in Berwick, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on August 15, 1931 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1931, his rookie year, he hit .299 with 0 home runs and 24 RBI. Piet played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 8 year career.
Most people believe that Tony Piet's best season was 1932, when he hit for a .282 average and knocked in 85 runs.
