The Milwaukee Brewers have called up outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. from Triple-A Nashville. The Brewers were able to make this move after placing third baseman Corey Koskie on the DL following a concussion. Gwynn Jr. is the son of legendary San Diego Padres outfielder, Tony Gwynn. Gwynn Sr. is expected to enter the Hall of Fame in 2007, while Gwynn Jr. will be making his major league debut sometime soon.
In Triple-A this year, Gwynn has posted a .305 AVG with 2 homers, 35 RBI, and 24 SB. While he didn't play well in college, he's developed into a good player. He has a lot of speed and a great eye at the plate, which makes up for his lack of power. He plays excellent defense in center field and is a very smart player, much like his father.
