Tony Covington (Anthony Lavonne Covington) was born on December 26, 1967 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After going to high school at Parkland (Winston-Salem, NC), Covington attended the University of Virginia. Covington made his professional debut in the NFL in 1991 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1991 was Tony Covington's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
