Tony Compagno (Anthony Compagno) was born on January 19, 1921 in Daly City, California. After going to high school at Jefferson (Daly City, CA), Compagno attended St. Mary's College of California. Compagno made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 3 year career.
Most people believe that 1947 was Tony Compagno's best year, as he picked off 4 passes and ran back 2 interceptions for touchdowns.
