Tony Bua (Tony Bua) was born on February 11, 1980. After going to high school at River Ridge (LA), Bua attended the University of Arkansas. Bua made his professional debut in the NFL in 2004 with the Miami Dolphins. He played for the Miami Dolphins for his entire 1 year career.
Acquired: Originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 5th round (160th overall) in 2004 … waived by the Miami Dolphins on September 3, 2005 … signed to Dallas Cowboys practice squad on September 7, 2005 … waived October 19, 2005 … signed to Cincinnati practice squad on October 21, 2005 … waived by the Bengals on August 20, 2006 … signed as a free agent on April 30, 2007 with the Calgary Stampeders.

Started 39 of 48 games for the Razorbacks, recording 408 tackles (243 solo), with six sacks, six interceptions for 30 yards, 14 pass deflections, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries … his 408 tackles broke the school’s all-time record list surpassing the previous mark of 381 by Ken Hamilton (2000-02) … had 15 or more tackles in 20 contests during his career … member of the 2000 and 2002 SEC Football Academic Honor Roll, in addition to the 2001-02 Lon Farrell Academic Honor Roll.

Started all 13 games at free safety as a senior as the school’s defensive team co-captain … named as a first-team All-Associated Press … ranked second on the team with 126 tackles (75 solo), and added two fumble recoveries, a sack and a forced fumble … also intercepted two passes and deflected seven others … named SEC Player of the Week with 11 tackles and an interception against Auburn … selected as SEC Player of the Week with 19 tackles and three quarterback pressures against South Carolina … played in the Hula Bowl following the season.

Started 13 of 14 games as a junior … named a second-team All-Southeastern Conference selection by the league’s coaches and Associated press … finished second on the team with 131 tackles (77 solo) while adding four sacks, a forced bumble and a two fumble recoveries … also intercepted two passes, blocked a kick and had five quarterback pressures … recorded nine tackles, an interception, a sack, a forced bumble and blocked a punt (which was return for a touchdown) to earn SEC player of the week honours against Bose State … named as a second-team All-SEC choice by the Associated press. 2001 - (Arkansas)

Resides in River Ridge, La… Attended John Curtis High School in River Ridge… was an all-state pick as a senior, as he intercepted seven passes for a team that was 14-0 and won the state championship… spent his previous season at Liberty (Texas) High School… as a running back, he amassed 2,450 career yards on 223 carries and on defense he recorded 195 tackles with 11 interceptions… Also lettered in basketball, baseball and track… Was an All-State selection in baseball in Texas and Louisiana and was the district’s Most Valuable Player… Played centerfield and batted leadoff… Hobbies include hunting and fishing.
