Tony Bova (Anthony J. Bova) was born on October 10, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Kiski (PA), Bova attended St. Francis University. Bova made his professional debut in the NFL in 1942 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, chicago/pittsburgh and Philadelphia/Pittsburgh over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1943 was Tony Bova's best year, as he caught 5 TD passes.
