Tony Batista Designated for Assignment

The Minnesota Twins have designed 3B and SS Tony Batista for assignment. The 32 year old was batting .236 with 5 HRs and 21 RBIS. Batista's best year was 2000, when he hit 41 HRs and knocked in 114 RBIs as a Toronto Blue Jay. In place of Batista the Twins will use Juan Castro, Jason Bartlett, Nick Punto, Luis Rodriguez, and Terry Tiffee between SS and 3B.

I think this guy never could hit. And whether or not he was clean doesn't matter. The worst part about steroids isn't the players who took them...it's the fans who like to bring them up in every conversation.

Not only was he never close to hitting .400, he's never been over .300 for a season. The homerun was his only strength and now that they have stopped there is no spot in MLB for him.
