Toni Fritsch

Toni Fritsch (Anton Fritsch) After going to high school in Vienna (Austria), Fritsch became a professional soccer player in Austria. In the 1970s when NFL-teams were looking for soccer-style kickers in Europe Fritsch was among the first to be hired. He made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Dallas Cowboys. He played for the Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 11 year career in the NFL. From 1984 on he played 2 more years as Kicker In the USFL for the Houston Gamblers.
Most people believe that 1979 with the Houston Oilers was Toni Fritsch's best year, as he made 21 field goals and was selected for the Pro Bowl.
Toni Fritsch died of a heart attack in 2005 at the age of 60.
