Tommy Tucker (Thomas Joseph Tucker) was born on October 28, 1863 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1887 for the Baltimore Orioles. In 1887, his rookie year, he hit .275 with 6 home runs and 84 RBI. Tucker played for the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Beaneaters, Washington Senators, St. Louis Perfectos, Brooklyn Bridegrooms and Cleveland Spiders over the course of his 13 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Tommy Tucker's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1889, when he stole 63 bases, hit for a .372 average and knocked in 99 runs. However, others believe that it was 1887, when he stole 85 bases, hit for a .275 average and knocked in 84 runs.
