Tommy Thevenow (Thomas Joseph Thevenow) was born on September 6, 1903 in Madison, Indiana. He made his Major League debut on September 4, 1924 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1925, his rookie year, he hit .269 with 0 home runs and 17 RBI. Thevenow played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds and Boston Braves over the course of his 15 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Tommy Thevenow's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1930, when he hit for a .286 average and knocked in 78 runs. However, others believe that it was 1926, when he knocked in 63 runs.
