Tommy Runnels (Melvin Thomas Runnels) was born on January 28, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas. After going to high school at North Side (Fort Worth, TX), Runnels attended the University of North Texas. Runnels made his professional debut in the NFL in 1956 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 2 year career.
Most people believe that 1956 was Tommy Runnels's best year.
