Tommy Matchick (John Thomas Matchick) was born on September 7, 1943 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 2, 1967 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1968, his rookie year, he hit .203 with 3 home runs and 14 RBI. Matchick played for the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 6 year career.
