Tom Wright (Thomas Everette Wright) was born on September 22, 1923 in Shelby, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 15, 1948 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .253 with 2 home runs and 27 RBI. Wright played for the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Browns, Chicago White Sox and Washington Senators over the course of his 5 year career.
