Born on May 12, 1940 in Breese, Illinois, Tom Timmermann (Thomas Henry Timmermann) played for the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 6 year career. Timmermann broke into the bigs on June 18, 1969 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 2.75 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched in 1969, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tom Timmermann's best season was 1970, when he posted a 4.11 ERA and notched 27 saves.
