Tom Tharp (Thomas Allen Tharp) was born on April 19, 1931 in Birmingham, Alabama. After going to high school at Ramsey (Birmingham, AL), Tharp attended the University of Alabama. Tharp made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the New York Titans. He played for the New York Titans for his entire 1 year career.
