Tom Skladany (Thomas Edward Skladany) was born on June 29, 1955 in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Bethel Park (PA), Skladany attended Ohio State University. Skladany made his professional debut in the NFL in 1978 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that 1981 was Tom Skladany's best year, as he dropped 21 punts inside the 20 and had a 43.5 yard punt average.
