Tom Owen (Willis Thomas Owen) was born on September 1, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana. After going to high school at Turner (Kansas City, KS), Owen attended Wichita State University. Owen made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1974 was Tom Owen's best year, as he tossed 10 TDs.
