Tom Mcnamara (Edward A. McNamara) was born on August 31, 1897 in Worcester, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Clinton (MA), Mcnamara attended Tufts University and the University of Detroit Mercy. Mcnamara made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Toledo Maroons. He played for the Detroit Panthers and Toledo Maroons over the course of his 3 year career.
