Tom McCreery (Thomas Livingston McCreery) was born on October 19, 1874 in Beaver, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on June 8, 1895 for the Louisville Colonels. In 1896, his rookie year, he hit .351 with 7 home runs and 65 RBI. McCreery played for the Louisville Colonels, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Brooklyn Superbas and Boston Beaneaters over the course of his 9 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Tom McCreery's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1896, when he stole 26 bases, hit for a .351 average and knocked in 65 runs. However, others believe that it was 1897, when he stole 28 bases, hit for a .289 average and knocked in 67 runs.
