Born on May 21, 1970 in Charleston, South Carolina, Tom Martin (Thomas Edgar Martin) played for the Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, New York Mets, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 10 year career. Martin broke into the bigs on April 2, 1997 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 2.09 ERA in 56 innings pitched in 1997, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tom Martin's best season was 1997, when he posted a 2.09 ERA.
