Born on April 22, 1907 in Biltmore, North Carolina, Tom Lanning (Thomas Newton Lanning) played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 1 year career. Lanning broke into the bigs on September 14, 1938 with the Philadelphia Phillies.
