Born on March 10, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, Tom Hilgendorf (Thomas Eugene Hilgendorf) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Indians and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 6 year career. Hilgendorf broke into the bigs on August 15, 1969 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.14 ERA in 94.2 innings pitched in 1973, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Tom Hilgendorf's best season was 1975, when he posted a 2.14 ERA and struck out 52 batters.
