Tom Herr (Thomas Mitchell Herr) was born on April 4, 1956 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on August 13, 1979 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1980, his rookie year, he hit .248 with 0 home runs and 15 RBI. Herr played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Tom Herr's best season was 1985, when he stole 31 bases, hit for a .302 average and knocked in 110 runs.
