Born on November 18, 1967 in Sebring, Florida, Tom Gordon (Thomas Gordon) played for the Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 18 year career. Gordon broke into the bigs on September 8, 1988 with the Kansas City Royals, and put up a 3.64 ERA in 163 innings pitched in 1989, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tom Gordon's best season was 1998, when he posted a 2.72 ERA, notched 46 saves and struck out 78 batters.
