Born on March 25, 1966 in Concord, Massachusetts, Tom Glavine (Thomas Michael Glavine) played for the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets over the course of his 20 year career. Glavine broke into the bigs on August 17, 1987 with the Atlanta Braves, and put up a 5.54 ERA in 50.1 innings pitched in 1987, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tom Glavine's best season was 1991, when he posted a 2.55 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 192 batters.

Despite pursuing an obviously successful career in the MLB, Glavine was drafted 69th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft.
