Born on December 1, 1956 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tom Filer (Thomas Carson Filer) played for the Chicago Cubs, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets over the course of his 6 year career. Filer broke into the bigs on June 8, 1982 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.43 ERA in 101.2 innings pitched in 1988, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Tom Filer's best season was 1989, when he posted a 3.61 ERA.
