Tom Farris (Thomas George Farris) was born on September 16, 1920 in Casper, Wyoming. After going to high school at Englewood (Chicago, IL), Farris attended the University of Wisconsin. Farris made his professional debut in the NFL in 1946 with the Chicago Bears. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the Chicago Bears the entire time. Farris also played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Chicago Rockets the entire time.

Most people believe that 1946 was Tom Farris's best year, as he picked off 4 passes.
