Tom Dimmick (Thomas Evans Dimmick) was born on May 1, 1931 in Opelousas, Louisiana. After going to high school at Lake Charles (LA), Dimmick attended the University of Houston. Dimmick made his professional debut in the NFL in 1956 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Philadelphia Eagles the entire time. Dimmick also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Dallas Texans the entire time.
