Tom Cox (Thomas Cox) was born on December 4, 1962 in Xenia, Ohio. After going to high school at Xenia (OH), Cox attended the University of Southern California. Cox started at center for the USC Trojans in 1984 and 1985. In 1983 Cox was back-up center to All American Tony Slaton. Cox centered the USC Trojans against Ohio State in the 1985 Rose Bowl. Tom Cox said that one of his greatest highlights at USC was beating Ohio State. Ohio State elected not to recruit Tom from Xenia high School (Ohio) in 1981, although 37 other colleges did. Cox made his professional debut in the NFL in 1987 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 1 year career. He also played in the pre-season 1986 San Francisco 49er camps. Tom Cox was an All Western Ohio league selection in 1981 from Xenia, Ohio. While at USC Tom snapped the football to Sean Salisbury (1984), and Rodney Peete (1985). Tom Cox not only received an athletic scholarship at USC, but also received academic honors in 1983, and 1984 (David X. Marks Award).
