Tom Coombs (Thomas Barton Coombs) was born on May 31, 1959 in Eureka, California. After going to high school at Capital (Olympia, WA), Coombs attended Puget Sound University and the University of Idaho. Coombs made his professional debut in the NFL in 1982 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1983 was Tom Coombs's best year.
