Born on October 14, 1934 in Morgan, Georgia, Tom Cheney (Thomas Edgar Cheney) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Senators over the course of his 8 year career. Cheney broke into the bigs on April 21, 1957 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.98 ERA in 52 innings pitched in 1960, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tom Cheney's best season was 1962, when he posted a 3.17 ERA and struck out 147 batters.
