Tom Catlin (Thomas Allen Catlin) was born on September 8, 1931 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Ponca City (OK), Catlin attended the University of Oklahoma. Catlin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the Cleveland Browns. He played for the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1954 was Tom Catlin's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
