Born on April 8, 1938 in Delaware, Ohio, Tom Butters (Thomas Arden Butters) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 4 year career. Butters broke into the bigs on September 8, 1962 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 2.38 ERA in 64.1 innings pitched in 1964, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Tom Butters's best season was 1964, when he posted a 2.38 ERA and struck out 58 batters.
