Tom Brookens (Thomas Dale Brookens) was born on August 10, 1953 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on July 10, 1979 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1979, his rookie year, he hit .263 with 4 home runs and 21 RBI. Brookens played for the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Tom Brookens's best season was 1980, when he hit for a .275 average and knocked in 66 runs.
