Tom Alston (Thomas Edison Alston) was born on January 31, 1926 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 13, 1954 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1954, his rookie year, he hit .246 with 4 home runs and 34 RBI. Alston played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 4 year career.
